God continues to pour out blessings over Borger, and each day we are reminded that God hastens the work and as we do our part, plan and open our mouths he handles the rest!
We had several days were we would look at our day full of return appointmentsts and the members we had asked to come to those lessons with us and then just pray and pray and pray and EVERYTHING would go through!
We have had more success this week concerning lessons with investigators and members also present in those lessons than this area has ever seen! I was a neat blessing to be a part of it!
Teaching only Spanish is a challenge, but a welcome one as our language skills improve daily. We were blessed to find several people this week that speak only Spanish.
We are also in charge of translating sacrament meeting and teaching gospel principles in Spanish. No investigators came to church this week, but we got the translation equipment out anyways and practiced. Because the sets are so old you need to talk VERY loud as you translate....and unfortunately the best place they currently have for us to sit and translate and still be able to hear the talks over the speakers is...... the mother's room...haha So we sat in there and listened and translated while the elders listened in the chapel to check all the headsets.
We also continue to volunteer each week at one of the local church's food banks. It truly has taught me charity and patience as we gather for a prayer circle at the end and the pastor fills a prayer with comments directed toward our unsaved souls as missionaries. I don't care, We still love them! :)
Women's Conference was amazing! And as always, it turned into an adventure ...haha We were told a few hours before the broadcast began at the local church that the satellite had broken and we would all need to travel to Pampa (40 min away) to see the broadcast. We then spent the next few hours recontacting everyone to let them know and trying to arrange rides for all our investigators, less actives, and ourselves. Unfortunately after hours of work we were the only ones from Borger that made it to Pampa, but it was worth the trip!
Focus on going to the temple regularly. You have been taught it...now DO IT! Remember that each temple on the earth lessens the power of satan. As we attend regularly that power enters into our lives and we can grow to become like Captain Moroni in the Book of Mormon- where the very gates of hell would fall if all were like him. Don't wait for the Millennium to Overcome Satan and be out of his grasp, DO IT NOW- through the temple!
Have a good week!
Love you all,
Hermana L. Ogles
PS don't forget to start preparing questions for general conference this weekend. If you come prepared they will be answered!
