The weeks and days are blurring into one gigantic Borger experience.
Each day I am grateful for the vulture tower in our back yard. It is a Huge satellite tower that about 50 vultures live on...haha Every time we are lost, we just look for the vulture tower and we know where we are!
I learned something neat this week, actually I learned it about 30 sec. ago in an email from a friend, haha, but I want to share it with all of you!
The power that God acts by is faith. If we do not have faith there is no power to make miracles happen in our life. We are here on earth to learn to master the principle of faith, that is why it is the FIRST principle of the gospel, so when we become like God we will have the power to do what he does because we have developed the faith for it! When times are hard, don't give up, just see it as an amazing opportunity to grow your faith even more!
Each day and each min we learn more and more how to walk by faith and gain more and more power to change the world!
We are currently teaching a single mother with 4 boys under the age of 6. We leave each lesson exhausted and searching for new ideas of how to keep them all quiet so their mom can focus. They came to church this week and LOVED primary, but the mom was so busy with the infant we don't know if she heard anything! We tried songs, candy, pictures, and our "really excited voice" haha But it wasn't until we served them that we saw a real change. We helped the little boys fold all their clothes they and thrown around the room, and helped their mom with some chores. They felt the power of service and the boys listen more now and are more respectful! Everyone teach your kids to serve! IT BRINGS MIRACLES! :)
Here are the neat miracles from last week....
1. We were riding our bikes and turned the corner to find an old man lying face down on the sidewalk in the HOT sun. He had been there for a while and hit his child when he passed out. We found him there as the same time as a young man named Marcus who was also riding his bike by. We stopped and helped him to the shade and I called 911 because he couldn't even talk. Borger must have been quite that morning because Every emergency vehicle was there in a sec. They took the man away and we looked around to see EVERY neighbor outside. We were able to talk with them all and several were interested in learning about the gospel! We then looked for Marcus, the boy on the bike, but he had disappeared! We said a prayer that we could find him and 2 days latter we saw him riding his bike and chased him down! The elders are now teaching him!!
And thanks so much to Georgia and Grandma O and Grandpa& Grandma Redd for the birthday presents!
LOVE YOU ALL!!
